Rana Greene

Dr. Rana Greene, a Christian by faith, is a caring, knowledgeable and excellent surgeon. She is a Board-Certified Ophthalmologist specializing in glaucoma treatment, complex glaucoma surgery and cataract surgery. Dr. Greene is the first and only Bahamian-born Glaucoma specialist to practise in The Commonwealth of The Bahamas.
Dr. Greene earned her Medical Degree at The University of The West Indies in Trinidad and completed Ophthalmology Residency at The University of Pretoria in South Africa. During her Ophthalmology Residency, Dr. Greene also obtained a Master of Medicine Degree with her thesis on Trabectome Glaucoma Surgery. She then obtained further training as a Glaucoma Sub-Specialist after a two-year Glaucoma Fellowship at The University of Toronto in Canada.
Dr. Greene has written peer-reviewed articles published in leading ophthalmology journals and presented her research at several ophthalmology conferences, including The Association for Research in Vision and Ophthalmology and The Canadian Ophthalmology Society. A member of The American Glaucoma Society, Dr. Greene is the recipient of research grants, numerous academic honours and awards.
Dr. Greene is the daughter of Rev. Dr. Garth Greene (deceased) and Mrs. Valaria Greene. Her interests include teaching medical and postgraduate students, writing poetry, learning foreign languages, travelling, photography and community service. She especially enjoys spending time with her family. Dr. Greene is a Consultant Ophthalmologist at Princess Margaret Hospital
